Common Suffolk home care questions

What is the difference between home care and a care home in Suffolk?

A care home is a residential facility where your loved one would live full-time alongside other residents. Home care is different. A care worker visits your loved one at home, providing support while they stay in the place they know.

We do. Rather than moving your loved one into a care facility, we bring specialist Alzheimer’s and dementia support to them.

From Sudbury town centre to the quieter villages around the Stour Valley, we support older people across Suffolk to live comfortably and confidently at home, on their own terms.

Respite care gives family carers a well-earned break, knowing their loved one is in safe hands. We provide home-based respite care options across Suffolk, so that your loved one doesn’t have to stay in a respite care home, and they can feel comfortable.

Yes, from help with washing and dressing to grooming and personal hygiene. Our Suffolk care workers approach every visit with patience and respect, making sure your loved one feels comfortable and cared for.

Suffolk County Council offers needs assessments that determine eligibility for funded care. We’re experienced in working alongside the council and are happy to help you understand your options before you commit to anything.

We aim to carry out a care needs assessment within 24 hours of your first call. From there, we work with you to get the right support in place without unnecessary delay.

You can find us at:

Unit 22, South Suffolk Business Centre, Alexandra Road, Sudbury, CO10 2ZX.

We proudly support families in Sudbury, Acton, Waldingfield, Long Melford, Cornard, Glemsford, and Lavenham. We also support nearby rural communities.

Key postcodes include CO10, CO11 and IP29. Give us a call if you’re unsure, we’ll tell you straight away.

You can reach our friendly team by calling us on 01787 370560 or emailing us at manager.suffolk@foresthomecare.co.uk. We’re here to listen, answer your questions, and help you find the right support for your loved one.

Yes, we take part in the Dementia Market Place at Trinity Park in Ipswich (held every June). Our office manager, Keeley, is proud to volunteer and connect with the local community at this event.
