On Saturday, 15th June, Margaret Shelter, our West Essex Co-Ordinator, celebrated a very special birthday, a surprise family party was arranged, and her team of carers were invited to come along if they wished to attend.
This picture from the night speaks volumes of the respect that those carers have for her, just to see them there wanting to celebrate with her and those few who were not able to attend also joined in by sending her messages once they knew it was safe to do so!.
There has been great excitement over the last few weeks within the team with the planning of this surprise, making sure that all those who wanted to be there to mark this milestone in Margaret’s life were able to attend; this included service users and their family members who know the birthday girl very well, wanting to hear all about the plans as they happened, also keeping the secret from her with many of them sending some beautiful cards containing some heartfelt wishes on her special day.
This was a real Forest Homecare event; everyone was so good at keeping the secret from Margaret that she was truly surprised.
